Third test match between India & West Indies was a draw at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar missed his Hundredth 100 by 6 runs. He got out at 94 runs. R Ashwin was Man of the Match as well as Man of the Series.

Indian Rupee all-time low of 52.15..........

The rupee hit a low of 52.15 against the US dollar, making imports, overseas travel & study at foreign universities more expensive. The Rupee has never been cheaper against the dollar, although it had flirted with the 52.20 mark in March 2009 following global  financial crisis. But unlike then when the slide halted as as global markets recovered this time around, foreign exchange dealers are betting on further fall.

MS Dhoni goes past Syed Kirmani as Indian 'keeper with most dismissals........

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday completed another milestone as he pipped Syed Kirmani to become the Indian wicketkeeper with highest number of dismissals in his kitty.

Dhoni stumped Kraigg Brathwaite off Pragyan Ojha's bowling to bag his 199th victim in his 62nd Test match - one more than Kirmani who represented India in 88 Tests.

Among Dhoni's 199 victims, 173 are caught behind and 26 are stumpings.

Apart from Dhoni and Kirmani, only Kiran More and Nayan Mongia are the other two wicketkeepers who have recorded more than 100 dismissals. More had 130 dismissals from 49 Tests while Mongia had 107 victims from 44 test.

RBI to Increase Rates today to Tamp Down Inflation.............

The RBI of India will raise interest rates again on Tuesday to control price rise despite slowing growth, but its job may get complex due to government's policies that are pulling the economy in the opposite direction & the wobbly global markets, indicate a report from central bank.
    A survey of professional forecasters show that economic growth rate may slow down to 7.6% from 7.9% forecast earlier. In inflation has been increased from 8.8% from 8.6%. In inflation remains a concern & will continue to occupy an important space in monetary policy setting.The RBI is probably creating headroom for a pause in the rate hike cycle in the near future given the emerging growth risks from the global & domestic front.

Gaddafi was shown no mercy as he was brutally killed............

Muammar Gaddafi, who ruled Libya for 42 years, was dragged out of a drain & killed by the very Libyans. He died by several gaping wounds, some seemingly inflicted after his capture by fighters who put a bloody end to his bid to escape hometown Sirte.
   Officials say that dictator's son who was also bleeding died. Another son, his heir-apparent Saif al-Islam, was surrounded, captured & killed.A jerky video on al-Jazeera showed a bloodied Gaddafi staggering under blows from armed men, apparently NTC fighters.

It is sung by international singer Akon.  The estimated cost of movie is 200 crores.  It is a action movie with a lot of graphical effects. Inflation at 9.72% in Sept, RBI unlikely to pause yet........

Almost unchanged  from 9.78% in August Inflation for September is near double digit figure levels.Wholesale prices rise by 9.72% in September from 9.78% in August. Central banks in number of countries have cut down the rates to meet the demand but despite rising pressure from industry . The RBI has maintained that it will not paused till it sees a conclusive evidence that inflation is cooling off.Stock market & bond yields did not react to the inflation numbers as the rate increase appears to have been built into expectation. For the monetary policy stance, to change inflation has top come down & show signs of definite decline.Some economists saw a ray of hope as sharply  upward monthly revisions in data had come off & the momentum in inflation is also waning. The ineffectiveness of rising interest for controlling inflation & weakening monitory policy can be attributed to the supply bottlenecks with drift in policies to guide supply chains.The falling in rupee also added pressure on Supply chain.                          
                                                 Lets hope inflation in India comes down.

Jhuki jhuki si nazar, in remembrance of Jagjit Singh

Indian ghazal king Jagjit Singh's way of celebrating his 70th year was unique - he was aiming to complete 70 concerts by the end of the year. The man who gave ghazals a new lease of life managed only 46 before breathing his last.
Singh, who learnt music under Pandit Chaganlal Sharma and then Ustad Jamaal Khan, rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s with his lilting voice and refreshing style of rendering ghazals and devotional tracks. He was a Padma Bhushan awardee.
Born to a Sikh couple in Rajasthan Feb 8, 1941, Singh went on to pursue a post graduation in history from the Kurukshetra University in Haryana. He came to the country's entertainment capital, Mumbai in 1965, in search of work as a singer.
It was a struggle. Singing at small musical gatherings, house concerts and film parties in the hope of being noticed, became almost a daily routine for him. But he didn't lose hope.
In 1967, he met singer Chitra and following a courtship of two years, they tied the knot. Together they came up with several hit ghazal albums like 'Ecstasies', 'A Sound Affair', 'Passions' and 'Beyond Time' and were considered a formidable husband-wife singer duo.
They sang many successful duets until their only son, Vivek, died at the age of 21 in 1990. Chitra stopped singing. However, Singh continued his tryst with music - and for good.
In 1987, Singh recorded the first purely digital CD album by an Indian musician, 'Beyond Time'.
He also sang for Bollywood films like 'Arth', 'Saath Saath' and 'Premgeet'. He created a strong footing in films with songs like 'Hontho se chhoo lo tum' ('Prem Geet'), 'Tumko dekha toh yeh khayal aaya' ('Saath Saath'), 'Jhuki jhuki si nazar' ('Arth'), 'Hoshwalon ko' ('Sarfarosh') and 'Badi nazuk hai' ('Jogger's Park').
Most of his non-film albums - 'Hope', 'In Search', 'Insight', 'Mirage', 'Visions', 'Kahkashan', 'Love Is Blind', 'Chirag', 'Sajda', 'Marasim', 'Face To Face', 'Aaeena' and 'Cry For Cry' - were successful too.
His concerts were a delight, especially when he broke into pleasant Punjabi numbers like 'Saun da mahina'. His heavy voice used to turn joyful, leaving his listeners smiling ear to ear.
He had also collaborated with former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in two albums, 'Nayi Disha' (1999) and 'Samvedna' (2002). In his later years, Singh became disinterested in Bollywood music due to the moneymindedness of film producers.
But he remained connected to causes relating to the music industry. He was one of the frontrunners battling to get an equal percentage of royalty for singers and lyricist from songs.
What he couldn't battle was his illness. After being hospitalised for brain haemorrhage Sep 23, he died Monday morning. But the voice in tracks that won him the tag of Indian ghazal king, will remain fresh for generations to come.

Ghazal king Jagjit Singh dies at 70.......

Renowned ghazal singer, Jagjit Singh, 70, passed away at 8 am at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, where he had been admitted to on September 23 after suffering from a brain hemorrhage. It was a voice that mesmerized a nation with a deep brooding sadness and the lyricism of Urdu. Along with his wife, Chitra Singh, he made a name for himself in the 70s and 80s as a leading ‘non-filmi’ voice in the recording industry. However, Bollywood did import his skills selectively over the years. One that comes to mind is Tum Itna Joh Muskura Rahi Ho from Arth. The image of a recently-divorced Shabana Azmi holding back her tears on returning to a cold apartment, while Raj Kiran strums a guitar and breaks into a song became a theme song of sorts for the bittersweet tribulations of urban life.
Jagjit Singh is survived by his wife, Chitra Singh, and though the couple saw meteoric heights, it also experienced dark personal tragedies. Their only son, Vivek, died in a car crash in the early 90s; his stepdaughter from Chitra Singh’s first marriage, Monica, who was a tarot card reader, committed suicide in 2009.  Known as the ‘Ghazal King,’ Jagjit Singh’s personal tragedies gave his atmospheric, depressive soul-searching ghazals an emotional edge. Singh was also the recipient of the Padma Bhushan award. He sung in several other languages including Hindi, Punjabi and Nepali. He also collaborated with Lata Mangeshkar for the album ‘Sajda’ which went on to break records for a non-Bollywood album. However, what made him a national sensation was his quintessential single, ‘Hoto Se Choon Lo Tum’, a ghazal that would send his fans into a frenzy at the many concerts he performed at.
His other popular ghazals include Meri Zindagi Kisi Aur Ki, Mere Naam Ka Koi Aur Hai, Apni Marzi Se Kahan Apne Safar Ke Hum Hain, Wo Jo Hum Mein Tumme qaraar tha, Patta-patta Boota-boota Haal Hamaara Jaane Hai, Hoshwalo Ko Khabar, etc.  He has also sung for popular movies like Sarfarosh and Tarqeeb.

Current CEO has big shoes to fill.Cook became CEO on Aug 24 after Jobs switched to the role of chairman. Cook must now take up the mantle of charting Apple's creative vision. Cook led the company when Jobs was on three medical leaves.Though he is a counter point to Jobs more emotional personality, the men are two sides of same coin.Despite their style are different. There is no way to replace Jobs.Cook is typically found working long hours at company's headquarters or travelling around the world to meet suppliers & manufacturers. Meanwhile, investors may be more likely to pressure Cook to use some of Apple's cash for a dividend & stock buyback. To maintain its streak of innovations, Cook will have to lean on corps of executives.Jonathan have overseas a staff of product designers.that is considered best in the world.Scott Forstall leads development  of Apple mobile software. Bob Mansfield runs hardware engineering, & Peter is chief financial officer. Cook has to work hard to match the steps of great STEVE JOBS !!!!!!!!!

Apple's Steve Jobs,visionary leader , expired at the age of 56

 Steve Jobs, who transformed the worlds of personal computing, music and mobile phones, died on Wednesday at the age of 56 after a years-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
The co-founder of Apple Inc, one of the world's great entrepreneurs, was surrounded by his wife and immediate family when he died in Palo Alto, California. Other details were not immediately available.
His death was announced by Apple and sparked an immediate outpouring of sadness and sympathy from world leaders, competitors and other businessmen including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The Silicon Valley icon who gave the world the iPod, iPhone and iPad had stepped down as chief executive of the world's largest technology company in August, handing the reins to long-time lieutenant Tim Cook.
He was deemed the heart and soul of a company that rivals Exxon Mobil as the most valuable in America.
"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve," Apple said in a statement.
"His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."
Apple paid homage to their visionary leader by changing their website to a big black-and-white photograph of him with the caption "Steve Jobs: 1955-2011." The flags outside the company's headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop flew at half mast.
Jobs' health had been a controversial topic for years and his battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer a deep concern to Apple fans and investors.
In past years, even board members have confided to friends their concern that Jobs, in his quest for privacy, was not being forthcoming enough with directors about the true condition of his health.
Now, despite much investor confidence in Cook, who has stood in for his boss during three leaves of absence, there remain concerns about whether Apple would stay a creative force to be reckoned with in the longer term without its visionary.
Jobs died one day after the consumer electronics powerhouse unveiled its latest iPhone, the gadget that transformed mobile communications and catapulted Apple to the highest echelons of the tech world.
His death triggered an immediate outpouring of sympathy.
"The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come," Gates said. "For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it's been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely."
Outside an Apple store in New York, mourners laid candles, bouquets of flowers, an apple and an iPod Touch in a makeshift memorial.
"I think half the world found out about his death on an Apple device," said Robbie Sokolowsky, 32, an employee for an online marketing company, who lit a candle outside the store.
Cook said in a statement that Apple planned to hold a celebration of Jobs' life for employees "soon".

A college dropout, Buddhist and son of adoptive parents, Jobs started Apple Computer with friend Steve Wozniak in 1976. The company soon introduced the Apple 1 computer.
But it was the Apple II that became a huge success and gave Apple its position as a critical player in the then-nascent PC industry, culminating in a 1980 initial public offering that made Jobs a multimillionaire.
Despite the subsequent success of the Macintosh computer, Jobs' relationship with top management and the board soured. The company removed most of his powers and then in 1985 he was fired.
Apple's fortunes waned after that. However, its purchase of NeXT -- the computer company Jobs founded after leaving Apple -- in 1997 brought him back into the fold. Later that year, he became interim CEO and in 2000, the company dropped "interim" from his title.
Along the way Jobs also had managed to revolutionize computer animation with his other company, Pixar, but it was the iPhone in 2007 that secured his legacy in the annals of modern technology history.
Forbes estimates Jobs' net worth at $6.1 billion in 2010, placing him in 42nd place on the list of America's richest. It was not immediately known how his estate would be handled.
Six years ago, Jobs had talked about how a sense of his mortality was a major driver behind that vision.
"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life," Jobs said during a Stanford commencement ceremony in 2005.
"Because almost everything -- all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure -- these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important."
